Who doesn't love chocolaty heaven? Not too many people. Here is an excellent, super easy, incredibly delicious chocolate cake to impress everyone. I am not a huge frosting fan, hence the reason my pictures don't include frosting on the cake. However, if you love frosting, try out the Whipped Cream Frosting recipe below to top your chocolate wonder.
Ingredients:
- 1 Chocolate Fudge or Devil's Food Cake Mix
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions. Pour into a 9"x13" cake pan. Melt chocolate chips over low heated stove, stir continuously to avoid burning the chocolate. Drizzle melted chocolate chips over cake batter. Use a knife to marble the melted chocolate through the batter. Bake cake according to package directions.
After cake has cooled, layer cake with whipped frosting (recipe below).
Sprinkle crushed Heath candy bars on top for an extra chocolaty touch. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
Whipped Cream Frosting:
Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy cream
Combine cream cheese, white sugar, almost extract, and vanilla extract in a mixer until they are well blended and smooth. While mixture is whipping, slowly pour in cream. Scrape side and bottom of bowl and continue to whip at high speed until stiff peaks form.
